So the new Church of Misery album is out. This is a little different than anything else on the site thus far. If you can get past the ridiculous samples of serial killers and media glamorization of the mentally deranged while simultaneously ignoring the lead singers horrible engrish lyrics you will be treated to some seriously nice jams, and boy do these guys jam. The drumming can get a tad heavy on the cymbal usage but the guitar riffs are spot on. Houses of the Unholy doesn't really do anything new as far as Church of Misery is concerned, but for the most part that is a good thing, after all... if it ain't broke, don't go through the trouble of fixing it.
These guys are playing at Roadburn in the Netherlands for anyone lucky (i.e. rich) enough to attend. With the lineup that festival usually has, you won't be dissapointed if you like it earshatteringly loud and ribbrattlingly heavy. Inc ase you needed some kind of incentive to fill up 70 MB on your computer, here is a video of the band in action:
